Huntsville Youth Orchestra
Audition Information
Auditions for Philharmonia, Sinfonia, and Huntsville Youth Symphony will take place by appointment August 4-7. We will begin making appointments on July 15. Please call 256-714-0794 for an appointment.
There will be an audition fee of $15 per student, $10 for additional students within a family. Audition fees are non refundable, but will be applied toward the orchestra fees for the year.
Students are required to audition for Philharmonia, Sinfonia, and Huntsville Youth Symphony. If a student wishes to audition for Sinfonia and did not play with Sinfonia orchestra during the 2009-2010 season, s/he is required to be prepared with both Philharmonia and Sinfonia music. If a student wishes to audition for Huntsville Youth Symphony and didn't play with that orchestra during the 2009-2010 season, s/he is required to prepare both Sinfonia and Huntsville Youth Symphony music. If a student is auditioning for an orchestra s/he played in during the 2009-2010 season, s/he is required only to play the music for that orchestra.
Students will be placed in an orchestra based on their audition scores.
Auditions are not required for Novice Strings, Intermezzo, or Concert Orchestra.
